Viva Victoria 26

Posted: April 11, 2026 in Uncategorized

Getting to that time of year when must be about time for another holiday. This time we are off to Victoria in May for a few weeks. First up though we celebrated another wonderful Fergella gathering at The Ponderosa @Flashman Inc. Its a 3 day affair as CLP only has 3 wine fridges (dont count Champers nonsense) but we are working on that

The hearty ones dribbled in Friday morning under gray skies . At least it was a bit cooler and we could set up outside with an arrangement of Tarps and Caravans. Apparently some nonsense about no meat on Good Fridays so made do with some brown gruel and corn chips . Ouch.

Plenty of pool time of course both days in between the showers. Always good to get some exercise in between all the imbibing. Munchkins must be getting bigger as can no longer throw they out of the pool. Not everyone was keen for a swim though

Lovely seafood dinner on Friday night but first of course its Spritzer Time . Easter is all about tradition afterall

We all behaved ourselves as still another day to go. The gang all descended by 11 am on Saturday and we had added a few more chairs and wine glasses. A wonderful lunch ensued and continued well into the afternoon as usual. There may have been some cheating in the egg and spoon race so we declared it a draw.

Usual dinner of left overs including the Traditional Tiramisu ala RickyBoy. Next morning saw the girls up bright eyed and bushy tailed for the Easter Egg hunt. A rather devious bunny this year with some egg placements. Great to see teamwork from the girls

Each year we get smarter with set up and also dismantling with every one pitching in on Sunday morning to pack up. All on the road and home safe by late morning

This time of year also has a run of Public Holidays as well. Not as relevant to us reduntirees but do need to keep tabs as bloody coffee shop dont open until after 6 am on Public Holidays – you know, morning tea time !

We had originally planned a driving holiday in May but couldnt really settle on an itinerary so went with usual fly in fly out. Probably not a bad idea with current fuel situation. Plan then is to fly into Melboring but head straight to Bendigo for 3 nights before catching up with John and Lorraine in Harcourt for a 5 night freeload festivus. Then into Melboring for a week before flying home. Staying in different part of CBD this time at QT up on Russell Street. Think have done Southbank enough

Too much topical news around to discuss in detail let alone understand. The almost moon thingy is the good news story I guess

This time of year is also when it seems you need to get all your checks and balances done, update a few vaccinations maybe and yearly blood tests. Of course with the cost of living sky rocketing have had to cut some corners

So, just a quick update on a busy day. Hey its Masters Time folks – do not disturb before 10 am any day this weekend

You know – lunchtime…..
