Well look at that , time is flying by . Not sure why women love laundry so much as all seems a bit dull to me. Ouch. That damn mystery mosquito again. Now come on tell me honestly that she doesn’t look keen to fluff my pillows

Laundry, like most things in Hobart , doesn’t open until 7 am so off first up for coffee and a walk . Hard to know what weather is like outside with being dark and all but app says 13 feels like 10 so will go with that . As usual it varies depending what part of town in but best to be too warm than too cold. Not sure if any rain last night as roads dry this morning and a bit cloudy but should be good. Lovely time to walk around but do see so many fit people running that it makes me thirsty

Laundry was simple to start so time to head off for breakky while it does its thang. Much like a brewery no real interest in how it works just the end product . Have my go to place just up the road for breakfast and then some planning will be required . Keen for a lighter breakfast and in haste to get back to my washing missed the “ loaf” description when ordering my coffee and raisin “toast”. Bucket ! It was delicious but only ate half and in a sign of why this place is a keeper the lady asked if I had any laundry to do. Please. Nah , only jossin but she did ask if I wanted to take the rest home you know in case there was a full grown man at home . Ouch, they turn nasty so quickly. One could really do damage here trust me.

Thought I would check out the lookout at top of Lenna . Nice views but would not climb those stairs after a drink or 3 – reminds me there is a very nice bar on site to try one afternoon.

Well the washing is done and now just have to break it to CLP that I won’t be bringing a big load home for her. She will be crestfallen so will let her enjoy one more day of hope. Ouch. Damn they are sneaky bastards . Ok now just left with a pesky 12 hours to fill in before sleepy time . No great plan emerged so may just wander into CBD for a casual stroll and work the loaf off one slice at a time.
And wander I did for the next two hours on a glorious windy day . First around the waterfront to see The Cenotaph and other impressive erections. As always these monuments are done well.

Then it was time to see if Lady Mary was home at Downton Abbey . Pity Valentines Day was over cause reckon I would have been in with a dozen fresh roses. With nothing my only hope would be dig up Maggie Smith buried on the grounds they tell me.

From there it was an easy stroll into Hobart CBD and it kinda confirmed what already suspected not a lot to see. Of interest must be close to Area 51 but fear the Aliens left and took all the bloody souvenirs with them !

Time then for a coffee after all that walking and went with The Piccolo which was fine and dandy. Did some light reading but it became a grind after a while

Time then to meander home and keep an eye out for any Street Art along the way. Pickings were slim but what I found were good

Well that was another great morning indeed but we now have the issue of only 11 am and sun doesn’t go down until 2 am tomorrow. I have never known a sunset to shift so much in a few days 😎. The knees and ankle do need a rest certainly and plan today was try and start a bit later and be out at 4 pm when the good bars open. Have my left over dinner from last night – half a pig and a bag of potatoes it seems – which may have for lunch instead as have my eye on a Guinness Pie at Irish Pub for dinner but does mean have to stay out until 5 pm 🫣

Lasted cooped up until 130 pm and then headed out on today’s quest not unlike when Tasman won the inaugural Sydney to Hobart. Thought would start with a dive bar to set the bar low. Achieved

It was very pleasant walking weather and plan was to do a bit of walking in between and drink plenty of water . The clouds were getting grey

Next stop was In The Hanging Garden. Odd little oasis in downtown Hobart. Had another cocktail just to be devilish. By now it wasn’t so much the drink range but number of toilets free

Maybe time for a beer quencher and as luck would have it just up the hill was Mountain Culture. Well set up but only have pints or schooners and I was just looking for a half pint. Sheila behind bar said “ hey you are that clown that couldn’t finish his raisin loaf ain’t ya? “ Damn word spreads quickly when you have two heads and two mouths . I took the schooner

About a 15 min walk away was The Kelp Bar on waterfront with a cocktail Happy Hour at 4 pm. It was 3:30 pm. I walked slowly then went with the old Flash charm and got my $15 cocktail at 3:55 pm. Living life on the edge baby . Starting to rain a bit too so better stay in doors eh

Well that was pretty good indeed so thought would have another as almost free. Time to venture outside as quite warm inside with the fire going.

Ok that’s enough alcohol for one afternoon , time for some food. A leisurely stroll to Irish Murphy’s should have me and the chef arriving at same time. Got my Cape Grim Guinness beef pie and it was great especially with a glass of water

So, another great day in Hobart but does have me wondering about next two days and what shall I do. Think have done Hobart CBD to death and it was already half dead
Maybe I could offer to do everyone’s laundry 🤔. Later dudes
