Today may see a temporary halt in the glorious weather . The good news is the heat remains today 😏 Some showers later today , and 32 degrees! , and then some clouds and cooler weather next couple of days . Not a bad thing really to see a city in all its guises. Today’s loose plan is visit Cascade Brewery late morning and go on a bit of a coffee hunt early morning. Time to wander more into CBD. Hope it is a bit flatter then around here which is quite hilly. As always the problem in these cities is nothing really opens until 8-9 am and I am almost ready for a lie down by then. At least it does feel safe around Salamanca even in the dark. Tasmanian Devils are tied up until 7 am 🤞Looks a bit breezy outside window so will dress accordingly
And glad I did although two things quickly learn about Hobart which is probably why they all have two heads 🥸 It’s very hilly and there is a wind chill factor at the waterfront that disappears once one starts climbing said hills looking for Maccas and Starbucks. Yay , none found yet . Simply booteeful morning out with the hint of a changing weather pattern. First up logic told me not to join a cult despite at least opening at 6 am 👍🏻

After wandering the almost CBD headed back down to waterfront – and 10 degrees cooler – as red sun was approaching. But first another set of bloody Kelly steps , they are everywhere . These had been renovated by Trump so were an uncomfortable marble of course 🤦🏻♂️

Then as luck would have it stumbled across a bean roastery which was quite salubrious inside. So far Little Amsterdam is coffee winner as it was hot !

Time then for some more walking and maybe some breakfast . Found a great place that opens at 7 am and has some lighter options like raisin toast and crossaints so hooked in – but no coffee. And only a few mins from home .

Actually took 30 mins to get home because thought would try the free bikes outside but after 25 mins pedalling realised…….

Back now in the Sauna which is my room to chill for a few and then head off to Cascade Brewery after 10 am and try out the bus service.
Or not😏 Buses ran on the hour which may be ok for going but a bit of pain coming back knowing how quick I tick off an “attraction”. A little confused by opening times too as main bar is 11 am but maybe the one for camels opens at 10 . Taking a punt I got an Uber at 10 am for $13 and was making a barmaids day shortly thereafter. Snuck in two beers before 11 am while luxuriating in the gardens watching clowns line up in their hi vis gear to be bored for 1 hr to get 4 small nips at the end. It’s beer folks , not a lot of difference. Was never doing the tour, done enough to know enough . Great hour or so spent relaxing and then ubered back. It was windy and cool when left. Hot and humid now

I did try the Brewery Bar at 11am but nothing special and really relaxing in gardens with great views was much more relaxing (spooky) and enjoyable. Sometimes it just pays to be daring

And now for some lunch and the long afternoon. Speaking to my beloved this morning – no reason she should mourn all week – and commented that the issue is same wherever I am. Do so much in the morning from early on and have such a great time that not a lot left to do in afternoon (except drink🤪) and not that comfortable in room especially waiting for sun to go down at 10 pm. Can I just say actually wouldn’t mind some of the expected showers this arvo. When on holidays always feel like you should be doing something as not as if I need to relax with my normal relaxed life in Maryhole. A plan is needed . Certainly is a noisy hotel during day
After much planning came up with a plan – let’s drink more just for a lark. What a minute ….. it’s Whiskey a Go Go time ( without the fire and death hopefully). The Still Lark Whiskey Bar looked inviting a mere 700 m away on a cloudy but hot day. After about 500 m came across the Lark Distillery. Damn I am a quick walker. Ah no, actually it is The Lark Cellar door if you like. I do so fronted up and asked for lay of land. He said if you lay over there I will get the funnel and load you up. Tasweagins eh. So went with the tasting flight not being a big whiskey drinker although at this rate may be getting bigger each day 😏 . Luckily only 44% alcohol so should be fine to drive . If I had a car

Then I thought well original plan holds so stumbled on for another 210 m ( forgot the GST originally 🤦🏻♂️) and found the whiskey bar which was rather quite massive and impressive . Thought this time would go with a cocktail and as they had two specials on thought I would support enterprise and had both …..but in succession. The bartender was a talker but sorted quickly with a look and left in peace. Very tasty indeed

Well that was fun I think. Forecast rain has not arrived – shocked I tell ya – but should probably head home as Wobbly boot is attached . Now remembering it’s only 3 pm and sun stays up until midnight do I really want to curl up toes yet or could I ……wait for it ……Jam another drink in 🥸 The IXL long bar was a 10 min walk to the Henry Jones Hotel and Pissatorium but why not. Will give CLP a thrill while waiting. Fronted up and door was open and only 330 pm. Gave the bar lady the Flash smile and wouldn’t you know she served me straight away. So a quite impressive afternoon was had by all but especially me and still home by 430 pm . For those worried about CLPs mental health I did call her after my drink 👍🏻

Certainly the weather is a bit different around home with much more wind. Looking forward to the cool change coming through overnight but may not be able to sleep anyway. After all tomorrow is
LAUNDRY DAY
