PTP Day 7

Approaching first full week done and dusted and really have seen a lot. Again , Noah has put the tools down as the flooding rains not quite begun yet. Today is supposed to be cloudy and rainy but first impressions were good on early morning coffee stroll.

Will return to Cafe Portrait again for breakfast this morning which should set us up nicely for a quiet day eating then until fancy dinner tonight at St Lawrence restaurant. So that CLP is not completely spoilt tomorrow on her birthday ( time zone spoiler there fans 😏) we decided to do final laundry wash today.

Cafe Portrait was usual plentiful breakfast to set us up for the day. Of course now need to walk a bit of that off and weather may be about to turn a bit worse. Am I pleased ? Figure that one out yourself

Shocked I tell ya. Shocked I am. Waited a couple of hours at home for rain to pass but it never came so we headed out for a walk late morning as only about 20 mins each way to Downtown. Not that there is a lot to see in CBD really but the exercise was good. On the prowl for some quirk and things were desperate . Exhibit A

We had walked up and down Denman Street many times now and always intrigued by the Aussie Pie Shop so time to test their wares. Passed with flying colours. Shoulda started a week ago 😏

Quiet afternoon then before our special dinner tonight at St Lawrence. Of course it is Sept 23rd already back in Pietown so Nonna has already had wonderful birthday wishes via FaceTime with the munchkins. Birthdays overseas always last about 36 hrs 👏🏻👏🏻. Back to dinner . We have the set menu with choices each time . It is a Michelin star restaurant so expect to be leaving with spare tyre around midriff 😏

Duly arrived in daylight as surprisingly for a classy restaurant it is one block from skid row basically. The place is small certainly but never felt cramped although sitting next to the most unfriendly couple ever met at a classy restaurant. Their loss 😏 The staff were great from the get go and the food superb. Once again the drink prices were very reasonable so I had a cocktail, a beer and a wine 🤓
