PTP Day 6

Posted: September 22, 2024 in Uncategorized

The start of the quiet 3 days 😏 Weather supposed to start to dim today but you wouldn’t know it by a booteeful early morning walk. Needed to get out early as had a terrible dream last night that a Zombie Apocalypse had started

Oh crap !

Took a sharp right down to the Bay as Zombies can’t swim . Just one of those magic 10 minute periods when the red glow in morning was in all its beauty. Luckily there were a few sailors loitering on beach so asked them what all the “ red sky in morning “ nonsense was and they said it’s a warning. “ Dont hang out with sailors on a deserted beach at 7 am in morning ya freak “ 😏 Fair call, let’s try Delany’s Coffee today

Canucks do seem to have a strong coffee culture. Plenty of cafes around to drown out Starbucks and Tim Horton and most serve Cortado 👍🏻 Not necessarily great coffee as tends to be strong but perfectly acceptable for being overseas.

The clouds had rolled in and even a little sprinkle had started. These weather folk know their stuff. Headed off for second morning stroll around the Seawall this time with wet weather jacket on and no sunglasses of course👍🏻

Headed off in general direction of some place in Canada where the cruise ships depart from. Halfway there the sun came out. CMS. Bloody same weather idiots we have at Home on an exchange programme I am guessing. Odd when you see their state of the art weather station

It was a very pleasant walk with a couple of interesting points of interest ( any other kind 🤔) until we arrived at big dock and it was very crowded . Reminds us once again why don’t think we are cruise folk. We walked around downtown a bit, had coffee and then walked back home. There are a couple of gentle hills but really the walks have been good and great to get some exercise. When you walk you see unexpected things like a Lego orca.

Time to relax a bit before grabbing some lunch close by. Once again simply getting out and walking around you find places of interest bordering on quirk.

Suitably rested we strolled up Denman Street where there are plenty of eateries and settled on the first of 17 Sushi places – Bullet Train Sushi. I am not easily impressed but use of technology and fun combined is a winner. Order food on a screen and soon it is delivered by bullet train

Relaxing afternoon then before heading out for usual drinks and eats around 430 pm. Once again a very pleasant day so we headed down to English Bay to see maybe our last sunset if weather clowns are ever right. When we partook in Cafe Portrait for breakfast we noted that they also did some cocktails. Given the pubs along Denman Street were chockers we opted for Aperol Spritzers at our new fave cafe

Noticed a Spanish Tapas bar next door so went for a walk to see the sun almost set once more and the beach was rather crowded now. Will miss this when we head inland more on Tuesday .

Back then for some Tapas and it was superb. Crowded of course on a Saturday night but we sat at window and watched the world go by . In case you think we fell for the old lamb chop shim sham I forgot to take photo before hooking in 🤦🏻‍♂️

That’s another great day in the can and really has been a great week and have always found something to do new each day and now starting to have some great meals. We shall see what tomorrow brings and then ring weather bureau and give them the update 😏
